Description
Released in 2010, Diamond Eyes is the sixth studio album from Deftones and represents a powerful return to form for the band. Created after a period of immense tragedy—bassist Chi Cheng was in a car accident that left him in a coma—the album is a conscious effort to create something uplifting and beautiful. With former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega stepping in, the band worked with producer Nick Raskulinecz to craft a record that is both musically heavy and sonically expansive.
The album is a masterclass in atmospheric alternative metal, blending Stephen Carpenter’s signature guitar riffs with Chino Moreno’s ethereal, soaring vocals.
